Bhattiyali New Testament (BHTTLF)
Overview
The Bhattiyali New Testament (2022) is a translation of the New Testament into Bhattiyali (also known as Bhateali), a Himachali language of northern India written in the Devanagari script. [1] The language is spoken primarily in the Bhattiyat division of Chamba district, the Dalhousie area, and the Nurpur division of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, as well as the hilly parts of Pathankot. [1] The 2011 Indian Census recorded 23,970 speakers of Bhattiyali, with 15,107 in Chamba district. [1] The vernacular title is “भटियाली नोआ नियम.”
