Barok New Testament (BJKWBT)
Overview
The Barok New Testament is a translation of the New Testament into the Usen dialect of the Barok language, an Austronesian language spoken in New Ireland Province, Papua New Guinea. [1] The translation was carried out under Wycliffe Bible Translators with the involvement of Bible translators Ed and Debi Condra, who established the New Ireland Translation Institute (NITI) to train national Bible translators. [1] Barok translators including Lucy and Sonia worked on difficult passages in the epistles as part of the project. [1] National translators in remote locations without electricity or internet used satellite connections to communicate with translation consultants. [1]
