Bola Bible (BNPWBT)
Overview
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Ruth, Jonah, and the New Testament in the Bola language of Papua New Guinea. Bola is an Austronesian language spoken on the northeast coast of the Willaumez Peninsula in West New Britain Province, PNG. [1] The translation, known vernacularly as “A Nitana Vure,” was completed by Wycliffe Bible Translators missionaries Brent and Sandi Wiebe after approximately 18 years of work living among the Bola-speaking community. [2] A dedication celebration was held in the village of Kilu in 2011, with Bola Bibles subsequently distributed in the provincial capital Kimbe.
