Busa Bible (BQPSIM)
Overview
The Busa Bible is a nearly complete Bible in the Busa language of western Nigeria, containing 65 of the 66 books of the Protestant canon (missing only Isaiah). It was published in 2005 by SIM International. [1] The Busa language belongs to the Boko/Busa cluster of Eastern Mande languages, spoken primarily in Borgu LGA of Niger State and Baruten LGA of Kwara State, Nigeria. Ross Jones, the SIM linguist who translated the Boko Bible in neighboring Benin, adapted the Boko Bible text into Busa and Bokobaru — closely related languages in the same cluster — while simultaneously compiling dictionaries for all three languages over a twelve-year period.
