Genesis in Bwaidoka (BWDWBT)
Overview
Genesis in Bwaidoka (2017) is a translation of the Book of Genesis into the Bwaidoka language, published by Wycliffe Bible Translators. Bwaidoka is an Austronesian language of the Oceanic branch, spoken in the Bolubolu district of Milne Bay Province in Papua New Guinea, particularly on southern Goodenough Island and western Fergusson Island. [1] As of 2000, approximately half of the 6,500 Bwaidoka speakers were monolingual, making vernacular Scripture particularly important for this community. [1] Bwaidoka also serves as a local lingua franca in the area. [1] The language uses the Latin script. [1]
