Zotung Chin Bibles International Version (CZTBIV)
Overview
The Zotung Chin New Testament was completed by Bibles International in 2012 and dedicated on July 29 of that year. [1] The Zotung people, who call themselves Zo Mingphuin, are a distinct Tibeto-Burman ethnic group in central Myanmar numbering approximately 40,000, with about 75% professing Christianity. [1] The year 1931 marks the first use of the Roman alphabet to record the written Zotung language. [1] Following the New Testament’s completion, the conservative Zotung churches requested a reliable Old Testament translation, as another organization’s 2016 complete Bible was considered unreliable by local congregations. Bibles International adopted the Old Testament project in 2018, with San Boi serving as chief translator and Tua Ting Lian as assistant translator. [1]
