Overview

The Open Dogri Bible is a New Testament translation in the Dogri language, published in 2017 by Bridge Connectivity Solutions as part of their initiative to produce openly licensed Scripture in Indian languages. [1] Dogri is a Western Pahari language spoken by approximately 2.6 million people, primarily in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir in northern India. It was recognized as a Scheduled Language of India under the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution in 2003. The translation is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license, allowing free redistribution and adaptation. [2] The text is available digitally through the Free Bibles India platform and as a mobile app. [3]
