Overview

The Open Gaddi Bible is a New Testament translation in the Gaddi language (also known as Gaddiyali or Bharmauri), published in 2017 by Bridge Connectivity Solutions as part of their initiative to produce openly licensed Scripture in Indian languages. [1] Gaddi is a Western Pahari language spoken by approximately 181,000 people, primarily by the Gaddi people in the Bharmour region of Chamba district and the upper reaches of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, northern India. [2] The translation is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license, allowing free redistribution and adaptation. [3] The text is available digitally through the Free Bibles India platform and as a mobile app.
