The Revised Gujarati Bible

The Revised Gujarati Bible (GUJOGB)

Overview

The Revised Gujarati Bible is a modern full Bible translation published by the Bible Society of India (BSI) in 2017. [1] It represents the latest in a long line of Gujarati Bible translations stretching back to William Carey’s pioneering 1820 New Testament at Serampore. [2] Earlier Gujarati translations include J. V. S. Taylor’s 1862 “Old Version” and subsequent revisions by the Bible Society of India. [2] The 2017 Revised edition aims to provide clear, contemporary Gujarati for the estimated 56 million Gujarati speakers worldwide. The text is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License through Free Bibles India. [1]
