Overview

This edition contains the Alkitab Terjemahan Baru (New Translation), the standard Indonesian Protestant Bible published in 1974 by Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia (LAI, the Indonesian Bible Society). The Terjemahan Baru was the first fresh Protestant Bible translation made directly into the Indonesian language, replacing the earlier Terjemahan Lama which had been assembled from Klinkert’s Malay Old Testament (1879) and Bode’s Malay New Testament (1938). [1] It remains the most widely used Indonesian Bible translation to this day. [1]
