Kisar New Testament (KJEKNT)

Overview

The Kisar New Testament, titled Makromod lalap lirna wawan, was published in 2008 by Yayasan Sumber Sejahtera in cooperation with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Kisar is an Austronesian language spoken on Kisar Island in the southwestern Maluku Islands, northeast of East Timor. The translation was carried out as part of a broader Bible translation initiative by the Protestant Church of Maluku (Gereja Protestan Maluku), which has supported translation into Kisar and several other indigenous languages of the southwestern Maluku region. Kisar (ISO 639-3: kje) is spoken by approximately 20,000 people in Indonesia, Nusa Tenggara and Southwestern Maluku. [Glottolog: kisa1266]
