Kagulu 2009 Edition (KKIBST)

Overview

The Kagulu 2009 Edition is the New Testament in the Kikagulu language, spoken by the Kagulu people of the Morogoro and Dodoma regions of Tanzania. The New Testament was completed and printed in 2009 and launched in May 2010 by the Bible Society of Tanzania. [1] Approximately 60 percent of the 420,000 Kikagulu speakers identify as Christian, with support from the Anglican Diocese of Morogoro, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, and the Catholic Diocese of Morogoro. [1] The translation title is Dilagano Disha ku Wanhu wose. Following the NT publication, Old Testament translation work continued, culminating in the launch of the first complete Kikagulu Bible on June 8, 2025 in Gairo District. [1]
