Ledo Kaili 1999 Edition (LEWWBT)
Overview
The Ledo Kaili 1999 Edition is the first New Testament translation in the Ledo Kaili language, published by the Indonesian Bible Society (Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia). Ledo Kaili is a member of the Kaili-Pamona branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language family, spoken in Central Sulawesi, particularly in and around Palu, the provincial capital, as well as the Donggala and Sigi districts. [1] Bible portions in Ledo Kaili were first produced as early as 1939, with additional portions appearing through 1997 before the complete New Testament was published in 1999. [2] Ledo is considered the most prestigious of the multiple Kaili dialects spoken in the region. [2]
