Bargam New Testament (MLPTBL)
Overview
The Bargam New Testament, titled “God Ago Maror Muturta Agamukan” in the vernacular, is a 2001 translation of the New Testament into the Bargam language of Papua New Guinea. [1] The translation was completed by Wycliffe Bible Translators and represents the first Scripture publication in this language. [2] Bargam (also known as Mugil or Saker) is a Nuclear Trans New Guinea language of the Madang-Croisilles branch, spoken along the northern coast of Papua New Guinea. [3] The language is classified as threatened, with approximately 4,000 speakers. [1] The digital edition was last updated in February 2013, and includes Scripture passages presented alongside Tok Pisin (Melanesian Pidgin English), reflecting the multilingual context of Papua New Guinea. [2]
