Aruamu New Testament (MSYPNG)
Overview
The New Testament in the Aruamu language of Madang Province, Papua New Guinea, was published in 2004 by Pioneer Bible Translators in partnership with the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea. The Aruamu people had prayed since 1979 for someone to help translate the Scriptures into their language. [1] The translation was carried out by Pioneer Bible Translators missionaries Marsha and the late John Relyea, working alongside a team of Aruamu men and a local literacy committee. [1] [2] A dedication celebration was held on July 2, 2005, marking the arrival of the New Testament in the Aruamu language. [2] The Aruamu community subsequently established Faith Bible College to train people to share the Gospel, demonstrating the translation’s impact on community life. [2]
