Overview

The Nande 1980 Edition (Amasako Aboytrtre wa Nyamuhanga Awakahulawa mo Biblia) is a New Testament translation in the Nande language, published in 1980. [1] Nande, also known as Kinande or Yira, is a Bantu language spoken by the Nande (Bayira) people of northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo. [2] The translation was produced through the collaboration of the Bible Society of Uganda and the Bible Society of the Democratic Republic of Congo. [1] The Nande and the closely related Konjo (Bakonzo) people of Uganda are considered a single ethnic group, known collectively as the Yira (Bayira), separated by the international border along the Rwenzori Mountains.
