The Living Book (NOBBIB)
Overview
En Levende Bok (The Living Book) is a Norwegian Bokmål paraphrase of the New Testament, first published in 1978 and revised in 1988 and 2005. It is part of the international Living Bible tradition initiated by Kenneth N. Taylor, who founded Living Bibles International (LBI) in 1968 to produce paraphrased Scripture in languages around the world. [1] LBI produced modern-language paraphrases in approximately 100 languages before merging with the International Bible Society in 1992; the combined organization was later renamed Biblica in 2009. [1] Like other Living Bible editions, En Levende Bok is not translated from the original Greek but is a paraphrase rendered into contemporary Norwegian to make the text readily understandable to modern readers.
