Tumulung Sisaala New Testament (SILWBT)
Overview
The New Testament in Tumulung Sisaala was first published in 1984, with a revised edition copyrighted in 2014. Translation work began in 1969 when Swiss Wycliffe missionary Margrit Haudenschild and a colleague started analyzing the language and developing its writing system. [1] Prior to their arrival, there were no Scripture portions in Tumulung Sisaala. [1] The Tumulung Sisaala people live in the Tumu district of northern Ghana, near the Burkina Faso border. [1] A complete Sisaala Bible was later produced, with a dedication held on June 28, 2014 in Tumu, making Tumulung Sisaala the sixth Ghanaian language to receive a full Bible through GILLBT’s translation efforts.
