Overview

The New Testament in the Mende language of Papua New Guinea, published in 2005 by the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea. This is the Mende language of PNG (ISO 639-3: sim), distinct from the Mende language of Sierra Leone (ISO 639-3: men). The translation was produced in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators and is titled “Nupela Testamen long tokples Mende long Niugini.” [1] Papua New Guinea is the most linguistically diverse nation in the world, with over 800 languages, and the Mende New Testament represents one of numerous translation projects carried out across the country by the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea and its partners. [2]
