Akukem Portions (SPMMOA)
Overview
The Akukem Portions contain selected Scripture in the Akukem language of Papua New Guinea, published in 2006 by Pioneer Bible Translators and the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea. Akukem is a small language of the Ramu-Lower Sepik family spoken by approximately 650 people. [1] The translation work has involved Pioneer Bible Translators personnel including Norm Weatherhead, who transitioned from his role as Director of Language Affairs for PBT’s PNG branch to become the primary Translation Advisor for the Akukem language project in 2019. [2]
