Toma Bible Portions (TODPBT)
Overview
The Toma Bible Portions (GALA Sɛʋɛi) were published in 2013 by Pioneer Bible Translators in partnership with the Bible Society in Guinea-Conakry. [1] Toma is a Southwestern Mande language closely related to Loma of Liberia, but distinct enough to require separate literature. [2] The language is spoken by approximately 261,000 people in Guinea. In the 1930s, Wido Zobo of Boneketa in Liberia invented a syllabary for the related Loma language, though today Latin script is standard for both Loma and Toma. [2]
