Taupota Mark (TPAMRK)
Overview
The Gospel of Mark in the Taupota language of Papua New Guinea, published in 2010 by Wycliffe Bible Translators under the vernacular title Buk Mak long tokples Taupota long Niugini. Taupota is an Austronesian language belonging to the Are-Taupota group within the Papuan Tip linkage of the Oceanic language family, spoken along the coast of Goodenough Bay near East Cape in Milne Bay Province. [1] The Taupota people number approximately 2,600, residing in communities spanning from Garuwahi to Wamawamana in the Alotau district. [2] This translation of Mark represents the first scripture portion published in Taupota, with Bible portions produced between 2008 and 2010. [2] The text is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivatives license, permitting sharing while preserving the integrity of the translated scripture. [3]
