Yalálag Zapotec New Testament (ZPUTBL)
Overview
The Yalálag Zapotec New Testament was completed in 2000 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. The primary SIL linguist for the Yalálag Zapotec language was Ronald B. Newberg, who lived and worked in Villa Hidalgo (Yalálag) in the Villa Alta District of the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca. [1] Newberg published Yalálag Zapotec texts (1980), studies on participant accessibility (1987) and verb morphology (2005), a literacy primer (2005), and work on location expressions (2012). [1] Yalálag Zapotec has approximately 93% mutual intelligibility with the Zoogocho dialect and 84% with Betaza. [2]
