Overview

The New Testament and Psalms in Yatee Zapotec was completed in 2002 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. Yatee Zapotec is spoken by approximately 5,000 people in the Villa Alta District of the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca, Mexico. The Lachirioag (San Cristóbal Lachirioag) dialect, previously classified separately under ISO code ztc, was merged into Yatee Zapotec (zty) in 2007. [1] Both varieties are recognized by INALI as part of “Zapoteco serrano, del sureste.” [1]
