Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in East Africa, bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the east, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the northwest, and the Indian Ocean to the southeast. Covering an area of approximately 580,367 square kilometers, Kenya has a population of about 54 million people as of 2023. The capital and largest city is Nairobi. The official languages are Swahili and English. Kenya operates as a unitary presidential republic. The economy is diverse, with key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, services, and tourism. Kenya is known for its rich biodiversity, including savannahs, lakes, and mountain highlands, and for its wildlife reserves and national parks.
